Meet the Friends of Woodmont Park

Friends of Woodmont Park (FWP) is a new, volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit caring for the woods, trails, and green spaces around the pool. If you've noticed cleared brush and better trails lately, that's them.

FWP is independent and works in partnership with the Woodmont Recreation Association (WRA). WRA still owns the land and runs the pool, while FWP takes on the surrounding grounds through volunteers and community support, so WRA dues can stay focused on the pool.

Saturday, Nov 7: Fall Fest, 1–7 PM

Live music from Blue Rooster (1–4) and Sold Separately (4–7), plus food, kids' activities, and Paint the Blocks. Find the FWP table in the lower parking lot to see early ideas for the park, take a trail tour, and sign up to volunteer.

Saturday, Nov 14: First cleanup, 9–11 AM

FWP's first volunteer cleanup day is the week after Fall Fest. Sign up at the FWP table, then bring gloves and a friend.

Refreshing our entrances

Closer to the street, WCA is beginning work to refresh the neighborhood entrances with new plantings. It's a simple, welcoming improvement you'll start to see at the entrance beds in the months ahead. If you have suggestions for plantings or design be sure to reach out now!

Lend a hand — We're looking for a neighbor, a family, or a whole block to decorate the entrances for the holidays. If that sounds fun, find us at Fall Fest or email info@woodmontbonair.com.

More to come from WCA

A note from Gabe Duke, WCA President: I've spent much of this year helping stand up the Friends of Woodmont Park. Now that its nonprofit and legal groundwork is largely done, I'll have more time to give to WCA. I hope that means you'll see WCA more active in the months and years ahead. I'm especially excited for the two organizations to support each other!

A reminder about WCA dues

If you haven't paid this year's dues yet, now's a great time. Dues are $20 per household. We haven't taken on a major project in some years, so WCA has a healthy balance, and our main expense is light monthly upkeep of the entrances. Your dues keep it that way. If you've already paid, thank you!

Dues go to WCA, which is separate from WRA and FWP, and they aren't tax-deductible.

We've set up a new member page where you can check your dues status and keep your address up to date. Sign in at members.woodmontbonair.com with the email address we have on file for you. It's brand new, and we don't have older payments on file yet, so if something looks off, email us at info@woodmontbonair.com.

See you Saturday

Woodmont is a year-round community, and it's a good one because neighbors show up. Come for the music, stay for the fun, and we'll see you at Fall Fest.
